"DTVC Extra" are shorter solo episodes that I'll be posting on some weeks in addition to the main podcast. In this episode we're continuing our look at the MCU Phase 2 with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "The Guardians of the Galaxy." Before that, I talk a bit about the last year of comic book movies, and where the genre might be going. Then with "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" I look at how that film compares with the first one, and also get into how the franchise is handing things over to Anthony Mackie. Finally, with "The Guardians of the Galaxy," I try to break down why the film was so successful, and how this film could be a template for future adaptations of lesser-known properties.
